MY BOOKS ARE ALMOST OPEN!
Beginning June 1st, I will resume scheduling for the first time in over a year. Here's a basic layout of how the appointment process works:
After receiving the initial email, I schedule your consultation.
During your consultation we discuss your tattoo and set up your appointment(s).
It's pretty easy. Unless you live far away, in which case we can set your appointment up online.
Although I'm resuming booking in June, it doesn't mean your appointment will be in June. As of right now there are a couple open spots in July and August, then more than half of September is open. October, November, and December are completely open.
I most likely will keep the books open until December is filled.
I really appreciate the patience everyone has shown, and I'm thankful that so many people would consider me to be their tattoo artist.
As I've mentioned before, I will be VERY selective when it comes to the projects I take on. If I turn down your project, please do not be offended or insulted. I am just trying to prioritize my life with a busy schedule and family life.
Regular clients will have priority over new clients. Here are some of the tattoo styles and subjects I would like to focus on:
Illustrated realism, neo-traditional, and american traditional. I've also become interested in traditional Japanese tattooing.
As far as subject matter, here are a handful of things I'd like to focus on:
Anything with eyes
Lions, tigers, bears, wolves etc.
Any classic tattoo imagery
Black and grey portraits
I look forward to hearing your ideas, and I can't wait to start some new projects over the next part of the year. If your idea isn't on the list above you can still email me and I'll let you know what I think.
My name is Dave Wah and I am an award winning tattoo artist and portrait artist. Located in Baltimore, Maryland, I work at Stay Humble Tattoo Co in Hampden on the corner of 36th street and Chestnut Avenue. I have been tattooing in Maryland since 2002 and I am constantly trying to learn and grow in this business. I specialize in black and grey portrait tattoos as well as bold illustrative tattoos, and some of my favorite things to do are neo-traditional and traditional tattoos. Whatever works best for the subject matter and the client. Along with the portrait tattoos I've been really excited to focus on my own style, which tends to blend realistic elements with a neo-traditional tattoo approach. I pride myself in being a well-rounded artist, capable of approaching and tattooing in many different styles, doing whatever it takes to make the tattoo look amazing. I enjoy doing both black and grey and color tattoos, each tattoo has its own unique challenges which I always look forward to. I no longer do COVER UPS or "FIX" poorly done tattoos, sorry, but it's just not something I have time to do anymore. Your time and money is definitely spent best with me on a new, custom tattoo. I travel to quite a few tattoo conventions up and down the east coast, as well as across the United States, so if you aren't from the area make sure you check the "conventions" tab on my website to see if I'll be near you in the future. I appreciate you taking the time to look through my portfolio, there are many great, amazing and talented tattoo artists in and around the baltimore, DC, and virginia area, and I am truly grateful if you choose me to be the one to do your next tattoo.
I certainly appreciate those who are willing to wait for quality work. I feel very fortunate that I have so many clients that travel to get their tattoos for me, I routinely tattoo people from all over the United States especially up and down the east coast, including New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Washington DC and Virginia.
*All of the work here is custom, unless otherwise noted. Please do not copy or reproduce any of the images.

I got into the tattoo business at Artistic Creations Tattoo Studio which is now called Crucial Tattoo. That shop is located in Salisbury, Maryland, stop by there if you get a chance and check out their work, they are all great artists. In 2001, I began my apprenticeship under Eric Booth, owner and artist at Artistic Creations. Eric taught me the essentials of the trade, and I'm very lucky he took on such a young apprentice. I was only 18 at the time, going back and forth between classes at Salisbury University and the tattoo shop. Eventually I graduated college with an art degree in drawing, and I decided to continue my career as a professional tattoo artist. I worked at Artistic Creations for 5 years before gaining an interest in playing music. I started a band and began to pursue a career in music.
Fast forward 2 years: After travelling and living in costa rica, living in ocean city, maryland, and playing music full time, I began to feel the urge to get back into tattooing. This time I would enter the tattoo world with a passion to learn, and I was willing to dedicate my life to becoming the best artist I could be.
I got the job at Little Vinnie's Tattoos at the westside shop and it completely changed my life. I eventually moved to the Finksburg location full time and all of the artists helped me so much. I'm constantly learning and trying new things. When you surround yourself with talented people it's easy to learn and evolve as an artist. I feel like working at Vinnie's, with it's great history of artists, really inspired me to push myself.
Tattooing is hard work. I'm constantly tired, anxious, and stressed out. But I love everything about it. I wouldn't trade my job for the world. I've made a promise to myself, and to my clients, that I will approach every project with respect. I will give it the time it deserves and I will never settle for mediocre. I will learn, grow, and become the best artist possible.
I've started the next chapter of my life, I've opened Stay Humble right off of the avenue in Hampden. If you've never been there before you have to see it.. its amazing. Hope to see all of you there soon!
